I’m headed to Joplin to help tornado victims – Want to help?

Joplin, Mo is only two hours away from me.  All week I’ve been watching the reports of the devastation there, and wondering what I can do to help.

Yesterday, my friend Sara posted a news article about every day people just going to help out.  People are fixing tires, cutting down trees, and handing out water.  Joplin Torando American Flag

So today my family decided to just do it.  We’re going to load up the car with as many critical supplies as we can haul, I’m grabbing my chain saw, and we’re headed to Joplin on Monday morning.

We’ve done extensive research, and found out the MOST needed items are personal hygiene (soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc), baby diapers and wipes, baby formula, tarps and trash bags, flashlights and batteries, and non-perishable food.

We’re working with my son’s Scout Troop, with my Sertoma club, and with the members of Rapha House, a local non-profit organization in Joplin to coordinate a convoy to help.  We’re going shopping for as much of the above as we can fit, then we’re headed out first thing Monday morning to deliver and help any other way we can.

Do YOU want to help?  Please consider donating to the cause…TODAY!   If you could please donate money (ANY amount will help) it will all be used to fill the vehicles with urgently needed items.  Click the PayPal button below to make a donation.  You do not need a PayPal account to donate.  You can simply use a credit card or checking account. ..

Update: DONATIONS NOW CLOSED. Thanks to everyone who helped out!  If you still want to help, please contribute to one of the organizations listed HERE Thanks!

Any and all help is appreciated…
