The infomercial business began 25 years ago. I started in that business 24 years ago.

Once, I worked on a DRTV spot for what seemed like a great idea: a motion-sensing light you could put beside your bed. So if you got up during the night, you wouldn’t have to turn on the light, and you could see where you were going. Great for kids, adults, everybody, right?
The spot was the typical problem-solution style. It aired and netted exactly zero orders. My guess is that the media buy was poorly planned. It couldn’t possibly have been the spot itself! 🙂

Liz – Sounds like a great idea! I’m sure it was the media :-). We should see if we can bring back the product and test it again.
